This show showcases that we are all about the fans.
Mocking them, mainly, as it turns out. On the other hand, there might be something useful to learn. As we ask ourselves each week, “What did you learn?” Hopefully, after this show, you learn a bit more about the Ural and I’m not talking just vodka and rocks. Thanks to STEVE (not his real name), we talk a lot about the Ural coming from the angle of GS rider STEVE who is considering trading his Bavarian for a Russian. If we were talking super models, this would be a lot cooler show. Once you get Todd talking about Urals, well, he goes to his happy place and makes us all go with him at gun-point.
Some of the other stuff we talk about this time after the bump!
It’s not a motorcycle, but it looks cool. It’s a Morgan3-wheeler:
It makes my steampunky sense tingle.
And then there’s this neck brace we came acrosss on WebBikeWorld, the Leatt STX Brace:
And that $25,000 2007 Bigdog K-9 S&S (117 cubic inch motor)?
Here it is…
The guy’s got his home number on the ad, so I’m not going to post the link to the ad here… unless for some reason you really want this bike. Then drop me a line and I’ll point you his way.
Our Wheelnerds Disorganized Unpaid Correspondent for this week is Mike Hammond. We talk to him about the brand spanking new Ninja 1000 that he’s getting to ride for free for three months all thanks to CycleWorld (and Kawasaki). See it?
Sexy, right? He’s riding it for FREE. All he’s gotta do is right about it on CycleWorld Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Experience Page (That need an unnecessarily crude acronym). Him and nine other folks are blogging about their extended test rides. Go read it while nursing a tall cool glass of envy and hate. Turns out that tastes a whole lot like a mojito.
That’s just a fun word, right?
MO-HEE-TOE.
I can drink those alllll day long.
MOE-HEE-TOOOOE.
Oh yeah, Mike’s got a personal blog, too. His posts tend to be more timely there as opposed on CycleWorld where some editorial monkey has to presumably read them all before they go up or something. Check it out at: http://sites.google.com/site/7acesmotolog. Thanks for the word on the Ninj!
Last, but not least!
MERCH!!
We got shirts and stuff posted for sale on Cafepress at: http://www.cafepress.com/wheelnerds You can get some good stuff like this baseball-style jersey:
No stickers there as we weren’t thrilled with the quality of the stickers, but we went to Zazzle and you can get some 3″ ones here:
Don’t forget about our official Wheelnerds Disorganized Unpaid Correspondent Program. Basically, we want to hear some stuff from you! Ridden a bike (like your own) and got an opinion? Got a cool piece of gear or farkle? Got a story? Know some jokes? Record an MP3 (or whatever) and email it to us at wheelnerds@gmail.com. We’ll throw it on the air and talk about it, too. That’s right, you can be the first on your block to be openly mocked by the Wheelnerds. Alternatively, you could call our google talk # to the right there and leave us a message if you’ve got no way to record something. Or, even cooler, (to me, anyway), you can now also leave us a voicemail via Skype! Our skype ID is wheelnerds. Just go ahead, call, and leave us your story there! (We still read your emails, too, and will answer them on the show). If you got something really cool, shoot us a line and maybe we’ll talk to you live, too.
Like Mike. He got a free bike and got to talk to us. Nobody likes him. NOBODY.
If you’re listening to us on Itunes, please write us a review. Preferably a positive one. Even if you hate us. Misery loves company. The Wheelnerds thank you!
