Man… and it was ‘Taco Cart’ day, too…

Todd’s out for this week’s show. But never fear, instead of an hour of listening to Chuck blunder stupidly alone on the air, you get an hour of Chuck blundering stupidly on the air while getting mocked by James Reazor and Chris Hornberger of The Pace Podcast… The veteran podcasters of the Pace sit in with Chuck and shoot the bull. We talk about Chuck’s shiny new Triumph Thruxton. What his experience at the dealership was like compared to how previous interview Mike talked about it. We talk about selling a bike to someone who’s seemingly not so moto-inclined. And, oh yeah, we talk a little about that podcast thing those two guys also do on the side. I think they’re up to about 15 listeners or so, which is about double or triple ours, depending on internet privileges at local finer institutions of mental health care!

We do a test ride report this week on the Triumph Scrambler, a “modern interpretation of a timeless classic”. Todd would call this “poseur vintage.” That probably didn’t sound as good to the marketing folks as the former. The last time we rode one of these, it was a pre-fuel injected model and we’ve just been riding modern bikes for the past couple hours so the Scrambler had an uphill battle to climb.

Now that he has an eye for a retro-inspired bike, Chuck climbs back on the Scrambler and beats it around and comes back to tell the tale. He even feels a little cooler for it… that might just be the Thruxton that followed him home, though.
